Press Release – February 2025
President of AFOR
A passionate Rallycross enthusiast for many years, thanks in particular to the legendary Circuit des Ducs, Francis Pottier was recently elected President of AFOR, succeeding Jean-Jacques Bénézet.
"I’ve gone through every stage: I started as a spectator at the Rallycross d’Essay, then became a partner of the event, before volunteering within the organization and later serving as Deputy President and Treasurer of the ASA des Ducs. So, it’s a point of pride to have climbed every step before ending up at the helm of our favorite sport.
I also raced in 2000 in Formula France and, more recently, have been heavily involved over the past 9 years in my daughters’ seasons in the FFSA Women’s Cup and FFSA Junior Championship in Rallycross, which also gives me the perspective of a competitor.
First and foremost, I want to emphasize that AFOR is not just one person but 27 members and service providers, and it is together that we will work, listen, and strive to ensure Rallycross continues to evolve at the national level.
Our collective goal will be to move forward, maintain good relationships with the FFSA, our organizers, officials, partners, our audience, and of course, our competitors. We aim to reposition AFOR at the heart of the paddock by creating activities—live streaming, a merchandise shop project, among others—while also getting closer to the drivers and serving as the link between organizers and competitors. I pledge to be a unifying force among all these stakeholders in the discipline.
For 2025, I hope that the changes made to race management will ease the tensions of the past two years. We will also work throughout the year with the FFSA and its Commission President on the future promotional formula to continue welcoming young drivers.
My motto: work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously."
Francis Pottier, Président de l’AFOR
